You see a broad valley slicing through the red clay of the plains. There's a cactus jutting diagonally from the edge of the cliff ahead. You see a small object on the sand a few meters to your right.
>go north
You can't go that way!
>go east
You can't go that way!
>look object
As you walk closer, you realize the object is in fact, a lizard. It has bright blue and orange stripes waving across its width, and stands with its head erect. The lizard is immobile, facing the cliff. You get the feeling that it is staring at you with its left eye. Upon even closer inspection, you see no scales on the lizard. A salamander, you muse. What is a salamander doing out here, so far away from water? You probably should just leave it alone.
>go west
You can't go that way!
>go south
You can't go that way!
>go back
You can't go that way!
>go down
You can't go that way!
>go up
You can't go that way!
>go out
You can't go that way!
>get salamander
You reach out to grab the salamander from its perch. The salamander suddenly flips itself directly upwards into the air, to an unbelievable height. As it coils at its apex, you are absurdly reminded of the ouroboros - it almost looks like it is eating its tail. It continues to hang there at the height of its leap, spinning in a circle, unaffected by gravity. The salamander seems to pale out as it spins faster, as though it were made of smoke. The world goes dark. You feel like something has jerked your body upwards by the center of your chest.
